    9. FAVOURITES & NUMBERED SELECTIONS (HORSE RACING)

    1. The Favourite is the one which is returned at the shortest rate of odds. Where two are returned at the same shortest rate of odds, these two are Joint Favourites and Joint Second Favourites and the next shortest price is the Third Favourite. where a client backs the First, Second or Third Favourite and two or more at the same price then the stake is divided equally over the Joint or Co-Favourites thus created.
    2. Commissions for First and Second favourites are accepted WIN ONLY for singles, doubles, trebles and Accumulators at Starting Price. If taken in error the Place part of any such bet will be void.
    3. Where a Favourite commission is accepted and the meeting is not nominated, the bet will stand for the races timed, providing that these races do not clash with other races having the same advertised Off time. Where the time of such races clash the stakes will be divided equally on to those races having the same Off time whose results are being given 'race by race' over the official SIS commentary service. Where combination or Accumulative wagers are involved and the client makes it perfectly clear by the exact times requested, that only one particular meeting can be meant, he will be on at that meeting even if some of the advertised race times clash with race times at other meetings. For example, if the client has a £1 Yankee without naming the meeting and states the following times, 2.00, 2.35, 3.05, 3.30 and these are the exact times of the races for Ascot on this particular day, he will be on at Ascot even though there are other meetings that day with the same race times.
    4. Where a horse is withdrawn not under orders but is still returned Favourite, is treated as a non-runner.

Early prices or board prices cannot be taken on unnamed favourites.

    10. FORECASTS

    1. Forecasts are accepted for races of three or more runners and will be settled as Straight Forecasts. In any race where no Computerised Starting Price Forecast is returned, Forecasts will be settled in accordance with the N.S.L.S.P Straight Forecast chart. Should a Starting Price not be returned, the Forecasts for that race will be void. Should a non-runner be selected in a Forecast, that particular Forecast will be void. Where instructions are given as Forecast the selections must finish 1st and 2nd in the order requested.
Should a non-runner be selected in a Straight Tricast - the remaining selections will be classed as a Straight Forecast. In Combination Tricasts any non-runners, the bet will be void.
    2. We accept computer Forecast Doubles and Forecast Treble (B.A.G.S. meetings only) and the returns will be calculated by multiplying the appropriate returns applicable to each Forecast selection. When a forecast Double includes a non-runner then the Double becomes a single Forecast. Forecast Accumulators are not accepted.
    3. Requests for a selection 'with a field' or a selection 'against the field' mean in both cases that the selection is required to win. Requests for 'The field with' or 'The field against' a selection means in both cases that the selection is required to be second.

    11. CONDITIONAL BETS (ANY TO COME)

    1. In Any To Come wagers it must be clearly stated from which selection(s) the Any-To-Come is to be taken. Cash in hand from one selection cannot go on to the same selection or any selection in the same race. Any To Come wagers will be executed in strict rotation until the stake plus any winnings are exhausted, subject to (c), should there be insufficient cash in hand to cover all selections the bet will be exhausted as far as the cash will allow in accordance to the instructions given, where an Each Way bet on a selection cannot be fully covered the Win part will be given preference.
    2. Staking instructions for the Any To Come bet must be clearly and explicitly stated, stipulating the stake to be re-invested. Where a specific staking is not given the staking on the selection immediately preceding will be invested. Should the preceding bet be an accumulative one then the maximum individual staking of that bet will determine Any To Come.
    3. When Any To Come wagers goes onto Win or Each Way Doubles. Trebles and Accumulators, only the amount in hand from the original instructions will be invested. 'The Win part will be settled first in its entirety and the Place portion last. Bearing in mind that the Win part of the bet takes complete precedence, where there is insufficient in hand to cover either the Win part or Place part in its entirety then the amount in hand will be apportioned to cover the part of the bet which will be affected.
    4. In an 'Up and Down' wager when both selections are entered in the same race, the bet will become a single on each selection and the Any To Come part of the bet will be void. If, however~ either of the selections are entered for another race it will be assumed that this is the race for which the wager on that selection was intended. We accept other Conditional bets, i.e. 'Bets in running', Bets awaiting the outcome of Stewards Enquiry etc., subject to our discretion.

IF LOSE, IF WIN, STOP AT A WINNER

or the purpose of settling, the words "If Lose" (i.e. the selection does not occupy first place), will be interpreted as "If Lose or non- runner", and "If Win" (ie. the selection does occupy first place), will be read as "If Win or non-runner". Stop-at-a-Winner bets continue until one of the selections occupies first place. the selections will be settled in the order given on the slip. Winners that dead heat will besettled in accordance with Rule 7.

    12. DOUBLE ENGAGEMENTS

    1. For single commissions when the selection is Doubly Engaged and it is timed by the Client, it will be considered a wager for the race timed only. Should that selection be untimed or incorrectly timed, then the wager is deemed to be for the first race in which the selection runs after the bet was placed.
    2. If two selections, one of which is Doubly Engaged, are included in a Double, Treble or Accumulator, but run in the same race, then the selection which is Doubly Engaged will be automatically timed for the race in which the entries do not clash. Single commissions will be treated as entirely separate bets in accordance with paragraph (a).

    13. WALK-OVERS & VOID RACES

These count as races but any horse so involved will be treated as non-runners.

    RE-STARTED RACES - HORSES

In the event of a re-started race, the original betting market prior to a false start, will be given the settling, unless a new market is formed.

    14. POSTPONEMENTS

If a day's programme be postponed then all bets will be declared void. If for any reason, races are put back, the settling of all bets will always be ruled by the time advertised in the Racing Post e.g. if the Client requests the 2.00 race and that race is run at 2.30 the bet will stand for the 2.00 race as advertised.

    15. BOARD PRICES & EARLY PRICES

We accept bets for named selections and Trap Numbers at current Board Prices as transmitted by SIS. Where a Board Price is taken on selection, the Board Price will apply to that selection in all Win and Each Way bets throughout the bet, unless otherwise instructed by the Client. Each Way bets at Board Prices are governed by our SP Place betting terms, determined by the number of runners coming under STARTER'S ORDERS and not by the number of declared runners when the price was laid. Clients wishing to bet at Board Price must request the price when placing their bet. We do not lay 'BAR' prices, nor do we accept instructions such as 'First Show' for a Board Price prior to the transmission of a 'Show' of betting for the race - any such bets given in error will be settled at Starting Price. Should a wrong price be given in error by a member of staff then the bet will be settled at the correct price at the time the bet was struck or at Starting Price, whichever is the greater. Should a horse be withdrawn whereby Tattersall's Rule 4 would apply, then no Board Price can be laid after the time of withdrawal, unless the 'Market is reformed'.

    16. ANTE-POST BETTING

    1. Ante-Post wagers are accepted up to and including the day prior to the race on the basis of all in, run or not, entered or not. The only exceptions to the foregoing are as laid down in Tattersall's Rules, i.e. Single Ante-Post bets, being made before the day on which the race is run, will be void if the race is abandoned, declared void or if the conditions of the race are altered after bets are made. Single bets on horses balloted out under the Jockey Club Rules of Racing will also be void. In any such circumstances, Accumulative Ante-Post bets will stand on the remaining legs of the Accumulative bet at the prices laid on the selections in those races with Double becoming a Single and a Treble becoming a Double, etc.
    2. Bets are executed at the price ruling at the time of placing bets. We reserve the right to correct any palpable error, Win Doubles, Trebles, etc. are calculated at full Accumulative odds. Each- Way Doubles, Trebles etc. are settled Win to Win. Place to Place only and for the Place part of such bets the fraction odds and the number of places relating to each event will be those remaining at the time of the race not at the time of acceptance unless agreed by both parties. Place only bets. Conditional Bets and Forecast betting are not accepted on Ante-Post odds.
    3. Where the same selection is. backed to Win two or more events in the Ante-Post Accumulative bet, special reduced odds may be laid and these odds will govern the settling.
    4. A horse bet laid at a quoted price on the day of the race will not contain an Ante-Post bet, and in the event of withdrawal the bet will be subject to Tattersall's Rule 4, the rate of deduction depending on the quoted price of the withdrawn horse which will be treated as a non-runner.
    5. Our disqualification concession does not apply to Ante-Post bets - only bets placed on the day of the race.
    6. Ante-Post wagers are charged for in the week they are laid.
    7. We reserve the right of declaring void any live Ante-Post wager if a client has failed to remit an outstanding amount due prior to the day of the event to which the Ante-Post wager refers.
    8. Single Ante-Post bets on horse racing will be made void and any such selection involved in accumulative bets will be void if:- The race is abandoned. The race is officially declared void. The conditions of the race are altered after bets are made. A horse is balloted out under Jockey Club Rules of Racing. In this instance the liability of the layer against the horses remaining in the race may be reduced on both the win and place part of the bet in accordance with a rate to be announced before the race by Tattersall's Committee, dependent on the odds currently available against the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of such official withdrawal. In any such circumstances, accumulative Ante-Post bets will stand on the remaining legs of the accumulative bet at the prices on the selections in those races, with a Double becoming a Single and a Treble becoming a Double etc.

    17. INFORMATION AND RULES FOR RACING ABROAD

Where tax paid on is accepted in error, the bet will be settled to the whole investment, i.e. £1.00 tax paid on, will be settled to £1.09 at Pari-Mutuel odds. Win and Each Way for foreign pools: Horses in the same ownership are generally coupled on the win pool only. In certain countries, e.g. USA and Belgium, horses are coupled for all pools. It must be noted, in the USA, two place pools are in operation, namely the place pool for 1st and 2nd and the show pool for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
